Volodymyr Horyanskyi: In theatre I want to make up for lost time

The first role in the cinema brought a big popularity to Volodymyr Horyanskyi. The actor of Kyiv academic theatre of drama and comedy successfully acted in the role of his hero - psychiater Kostya in the serial "Birth day of bourgeois". The whole country liked him. Then everything started... Advertisement, shouting in films or serials became the ordinary work for him.

- Volodymyr, is it difficult to combine work in theatre and cinema? You probably should refuse from some roles?

- After I started work in cinema, I concentrated on one-shot roles in theatre. I lost many chances to act in many wonderful plays. I would act in them with a great pleasure. But such is life.

- Did not you have such desire to left from cinema and devote you career only to theatre?

- Unfortunately work in theatre is not enough to provide the family. The work in the television serial is more favourable in the financial sense. But I m not going to leave the stage. Moreover I want to make up for lost time.

- What did lead you to Kyiv stage.

- Every actor try to get to the capital to use his chance. So I was not an exception.

- Did you have stagnation in your work?

- Stagnation is unwillingness to work. We, artists, are such people who a;ways looking for something. If I am tired of it, I try to take some holiday and to change atmosphere. To spend some time with family. But in some days a wish to return to your creative work returns.

- Many people of your profession dream to try themselves in Hollywood. How do you think when Ukrainian actors will be invited for work abroad?

- Of course invitation to work in the USA as actor is a step ahead. But we should clearly understand that it is too difficult to join completely different creative sphere. But I am sure Hollywood to come to Ukraine as such powerful film industry always needs new heroes and actors.

- What are you working now at?

- Now I act in serial "Shark" and in two war films - "1941" and "Stop "Vervolf".

- Looking back at your cinema way - more than 50 roles, do you consider yourself a theatre actor?

- I can't imagine my life without theatre. There is cinema ot not but theatre was and will be always!
